Heatco Australia have voluntarily ceased selling all Serene Living branded products including this S2088 model. 

This is not a product recall or safety notice.  Heatco have never had any concerns about this product's electrical safety.

However we strongly recommend that this product, in fact anything at all Serene Industries Ltd, should not be purchased from any other merchant or from Serene Industries direct.

Since mid 2018;
1. Serene Industries Ltd are notorious for declining customer warranty claims, on their expensive heating products that they promote with a 10 Year warranty, that frequently fail after just weeks or months.

2. Serene Industries Ltd also have a long history of neglecting or abandoning their electrical safety certifications right across their entire product range. There are many instances recorded of products promoted by Serene Industries Ltd in New Zealand and Australia without any safety certification at all.

3. There are several safety and compliance reports filed with the New Zealand Safety Regulator concerning these Serene Industries products that are currently sold in New Zealand;
(a) Serene fan heater models;  S2067 / S2068 / S2069 / S2077 / S2078 / S207T.
These products are electrically unsafe as well as several having a long history of recorded fire incidents and frequent lapsed certification. 
(b) The entire Serene metal ladder towel rail range. These products are electrically unsafe as well as having inadequate certification.

4. Since early 2020 there have been multiple consumer law investigations into Serene Industries Ltd operations in Australia and New Zealand, the most infamous by international scam investigators Wikifrauds.

Serene Industries proudly announced that they have sold to a large New Zealand electrical manufacturer.
Late December 2023
Serene Industries confirmed on their website that they have closed their doors permanently.
22nd February 2024
New Zealand Safety Regulator (WorksafeNZ) have issued / gazetted the first prohibition on Serene S2068 heaters, with two more prohibitions flagged to soon follow.
